How To Make $50–$100 Daily Selling Audio Stories Online (Beginner-Friendly Guide)

Hello,

Have you ever wanted to make money online, but felt stuck because you don’t know where to start?

I get it. There are so many options out there, and a lot of them sound too good to be true. But today, I want to share something simple, creative, and real. You can do this even if you’ve never created anything before.

Here’s the idea:
Write stories with AI, turn them into audio using AI voices, and sell them online.

Sounds too techy? It’s not. Let me show you how.

What you’ll need

With these 3 tools and a few ideas, you could start creating and selling digital products to make money online.

Step 1: Write a story with ChatGPT

Don’t worry if you’ve never written a story before. You can ask ChatGPT to help. First, you need to input some main ideas of the story first, then ChatGPT could finish the rest for you:

Write a short romantic story (around 500–800 words) that starts with two characters, A and B, who are deeply in love. But B has to move to a different country for work. While there, B meets someone new, C, and they slowly fall in love. What B doesn’t know is that A and C used to date years ago — and they’ve never told each other.

Add emotional tension, internal conflict, and make the story feel grounded and human. End the story on a heartwarming note — maybe all three characters find peace, understanding, and closure in a meaningful way.

The tone should feel romantic and bittersweet, but also hopeful. Include natural-sounding dialogue, simple descriptions, and keep it realistic.

In seconds, you’ll have a romantic story that people will actually enjoy listening to. You can do this for different styles too — romance, erotic, fantasy, even steamy stuff if that’s your thing.

Quick note: Don’t rely 100% on what ChatGPT gives you. It’s a great starting point and does the heavy lifting, but the real magic happens when you add your personal touch. Read the story and ask yourself, 'Would I want to buy this?' Then tweak the dialogue, adjust the pacing, and make sure everything flows well. Think of ChatGPT as your writing assistant — not the final author.

Step 2: Turn your story into audio with ElevenLabs

Now this part is fun. Go to ElevenLabs and paste in your story. Choose a voice that fits the mood — soft, deep, dramatic, whatever feels right.

Click play.
Voila! You’ve got a high-quality voice recording.

Download the file and you’re ready to sell it.

Quick note: You can start with ElevenLabs’ free plan, which is more than enough for your first few digital products.

Step 3: Sell your audio on Gumroad

Go to Gumroad and make a free account.
Upload your audio file, write a short description, and set a price (I suggest starting at $3 to $5). You can even bundle a few stories together and offer them for $9 or more.

That’s it.
You now have a digital product you can sell while you sleep.

Real talk

I’m sharing this because I know how hard it is to take that first step toward earning online. But this is a real way to get started. You don’t need a mic. You don’t need an audience. You just need a little curiosity and about 30 minutes to try it out.

And if you’re wondering — yes, people are actually making money doing this.

"Why would someone pay when they can find similar stuff on YouTube for free?"

That’s a fair question. And yes, it’s true — there’s free content on YouTube. But here’s the thing:

  • People don’t pay for access. They pay for convenience, vibe, and experience.
On YouTube, you get ads, random suggestions, and poor audio quality. What I offer is clean, ad-free, downloadable audio they can listen to anytime, anywhere — on their phone, while driving, before bed, or even offline.

  • Some people want a specific style or niche.
Let’s say someone wants cozy bedtime stories read by a calming male voice, or soft-spoken romantic audio made just for women, or relaxing affirmations for anxiety. It’s hard to find exactly what you want for free — and when people find a creator who gets them, they’re happy to support.

  • Buyers love to own, not browse.
With YouTube, you scroll and search endlessly. On Gumroad, they can download it, use it how they want, and feel like they "own" a little piece of comfort or inspiration. That’s worth a few bucks to a lot of people.

  • People want to support creators.
If someone listens to your voice and it makes them feel something — safe, seen, entertained — they’ll want to tip or buy more. It’s about connection, not just content.

Remember, you don’t need to be perfect — just curious enough to try.
The first step is the hardest. After that, you just need to stay consistent and keep improving your products — the good results will come.
